ECUADOR. South America
Range: East of Andes from n Colombia and Venezuela, Upper Amazon Basin of Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil south of Rios Amazonas and Solimoes.
These are large diurnal monkeys. Arboreal and often in groups of 20-40 individuals. However during feeding bouts they often split into smaller family groups. They feed on ripe fruit, leaves and dead wood.
CITES 11. Endangered in some of their home ranges due to over hunting.
