Kelp Goose (Chloephaga hybrida malvinarum) male
Steeple Jason Island. FALKLAND ISLANDS.
Stockier than other Falkland geese. Male totally white with clear yellow legs. Female heavily barred black and white on flanks and breast with finer barring on neck.
RANGE & HABITAT: Widely distrubuted in the islands. Found on most types of coastline where it can graze at low tide on Sea Letuce (Ulva sp.) and the small brown seaweed (Iridea sp.) Southern South America and Falkland Islands.
