Eyelash palm-pitviper (Bothriechis schlegelii) on bromeliad. Venomous snake that reaches to about 80cm in length is mostly arboreal. Feeds on small mammals and birds. The Prehensile tail is reddish brown and can be used to imitate a worm to attract prey towards it.
Esmeraldas, ECUADOR, South America
Geographic range: Mexico south through Belize, Northern Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama into South America where it ranges into western Venezuela and western Ecuador.
