Tropical Kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus)

Seen singly or in pairs usually perched fully in the open on exposed branches or wires. One of the few birds to remain active through out the heat of mid day. Eats mainly insects that are caught in flight.
HABITAT & RANGE: Common in open and semiopen areas, including towns. Lowlands and foothills of east and west Andes. Found in tropical South America south to Argentina and Brazil.
